Background to Gintax
We concentrate on Irish tax advise:
- Business sales & succession
- Startup structures
- Corporate advice
- Business owner advice
- Technical tax queries from accountants/solicitors along with ad hoc queries from direct clients
Our role is advisers and do not undertake compliance services – many clients have their existing accountants/advisers and we work alongside these often in project management role.
Thus there is never exceptional pressure in September/November busy season – tough this time of year can still be busy with many wishing to complete deals etc before year end.
Clients are nationwide, base is Mayo (Westport) & office in Dublin

Role will suit
- Individual coming out of contract or with 2-3 years post contract tax experience
- Desire to have full exposure to tax advisory work and engagement with clients

Requirements
- Chartered Tax Adviser (ITI) plus law or accountancy background/qualification
- 3 years plus experience in tax role – enough time to know whether you have right skillset & whether the profession suits you
- Strong academic record / analytical skills (tax law is difficult & client facts even moreso) – demonstration of academic excellence
- Curiosity and desire to solve problems for clients and enjoy tax work – all client projects are different
- Extrovert and enjoy people – this is not a sales role but there will be lot more client engagement than (say) within large accountancy firms
- Positive attitude & outlook (it is tax!)
