The Opportunity

We are looking for an accomplished VAT Compliance Specialist (Assistant Manager/Manager level) to join the Tax Compliance Team as part of our financial services business in Dublin.

As part of our Dublin team you will be performing below key duties:

Key duties:

  • Preparation & review of Irish VAT, returns for a wide range of Irish SPVs including aircraft leasing vehicles, CLOs and funds;
  • Liaising with relevant parties to ensure tax returns are filed and tax payments are made in a timely and accurate manner;
  • Reviewing work provided by client accountants across the team in respect of VAT;
  • Liaising with Maples and Calder, the auditors, investment managers and other transaction parties in respect of new and existing tax clients within US, UK, Europe regions;
  • Liaising with Revenue for and on behalf of clients with respect to tax returns filed;
  • Preparation of client proposals and the on-boarding of new clients; • Billing, administration, and client management;
  • Providing VAT training to other departments on tax legislation updates.

The candidate will be a key team member, working collaboratively with Tax Compliance Team members and other internal parties and will also demonstrate initiative and the ability to independently service a client portfolio.

Requirements:

  • AITI/CTA or CTC qualification needed
  • ACA/ACCA qualification as a plus
  • 3 years+ experience
  • Irish VAT experience needed
  • Financial services experience as a plus
  • Corporation tax experience as a plus
  • Ability to proactively monitor deadlines and client requirements
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong commercial awareness
  • A desire to enhance technical knowledge and skills
