The Position
We wish to appoint a VAT Assistant Manager to work in our Tax Division. Working closely with the partners this role will involve the provision of practical and innovative tax planning solutions. As part of a management team the individual will be responsible for the achievement of departmental goals and targets. Strong technical, interpersonal and client relationship skills are required for this role.
This is an exciting opportunity to join Mazars’ expanding VAT practice providing consulting services to domestic and international clients in diverse industry sectors. The ideal candidate will have a good base of technical and practical experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsibility for working to deadlines and within budgets on each job
- Involvement in firm / department / practice development and marketing initiatives
- Assisting the management team in maintaining and developing the firm’s relationship with a portfolio of clients including co-ordination of service offerings from other departments
- Involvement in peer wide training and in team training
- Involvement in business development and marketing initiatives at firm, department and team levels
- Responsibility for staff development and reviewing procedures
Ideal Candidate
- ITI Qualified
- Qualified VAT practitioner with experience in a practice environment
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- High degree of attention to detail
- Ability to provide guidance to others
- Excellent organisational and planning capabilities
- Enthusiastic and confident with the ability to work with varying types of people
- Possess the highest degree of integrity and confidentiality in all aspects of the role
- Must be a team player, yet highly self-driven
- Excellent computer-literacy skills
