We are currently seeking to recruit a Tax Consultant on a Part-Time basis, to join our fantastic team, in response to continued growth in the business.
Role overview:
As a Part-Time Tax Consultant, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive tax services to our clients. This includes preparing various tax returns, offering tax advice, tax planning, handling revenue interventions, and managing ad hoc complex tax duties. We have a brilliant, high-performing accounting team, with a strong work ethic that is based on mutual support, personal development, and the delivery of excellent customer service. This is a client service role that requires excellent interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Tax Returns: Preparation of computations and filing of returns under various tax headings including, Income tax, Corporation tax, VAT, Stamp Duty.
- Tax Advice: Provide expert tax advice to clients on a range of issues, ensuring compliance with Irish tax laws.
- Tax Planning: Develop and implement tax planning strategies to optimise clients tax positions.
- Revenue Interventions: Manage and represent clients during Revenue audits and interventions.
- Complex Tax Duties: Handle other complex tax duties such as:
- Share Buybacks
- Double taxations agreements between Ireland and various countries
- Payroll tax compliance for residents and non-residents
- Tax implications of cross-border transactions
- Start-up tax reliefs for companies
Skills and Experience Required:
- CTA Qualification: A CTA qualification with the Irish Tax Institute with a minimum of 2 years’ PQE.
- Tax Technical Expertise: Strong Knowledge across all tax heads, with a keen eye for detail.
- Accountancy Qualification: An accountancy qualification (ACA/ACCA) a distinct advantage but not essential.
- Experience: Demonstrated practice experience working across all tax heads, including income tax, corporation tax, VAT, and PAYE.
- Knowledge: Strong knowledge of Irish tax laws and regulations.
- Personal skills:
- Excellent numerical and IT skills
- Strong administration and organisational skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and work to strict deadlines
- Ability to develop & maintain relationships with clients and fellow team members
- Perfect written and spoken English essential
- Sharp attention to detail and very proactive
- Ability to interpret key data and analytics quickly and deliver on company and team KPIs
