Deacy Gilligan Ltd is a full service accountancy, taxation and business advisory firm based in Galway. The firm comprises an experienced and dynamic team of accountants and tax practitioners who specialise in the provision of quality professional services to our clients.
The Role
As a trainee Chartered Tax Adviser you will provide administrative support to the tax function and will primarily be involved in the area of tax compliance. This work will include general administrative duties, maintaining and monitoring compliance lists to ensure that deadlines are met and assistance with the preparation of periodic Corporation Tax, Income Tax and VAT Returns and dealing with on-going PAYE compliance for clients. You will be assisted and mentored along your journey to becoming a Chartered Tax Adviser and as your experience and taxation knowledge develops you will gain more responsibility and exposure in relation to assignments.
The Candidate
The successful candidate will ideally be a recent graduate holding an honours degree in a business or legal related discipline and will possess the following:
- A keen interest in developing taxation knowledge and pursuing a career in taxation.
- Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Commitment and ability to work within strict deadlines.
- Good computing skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
This graduate role is office based and offers a three and a half year contract with a comprehensive package to support your training, including generous study leave and full financial assistance towards the cost of your Chartered Tax Adviser qualification with the Irish Tax Institute.
