The Digital Evolution of the Irish Tax Review

The Institute is committed to delivering our services in the way that suits our members. Over the last year, we have learnt that we all can adapt quickly to new ways of working thanks to the flexibility of technology.

We had already begun to consider the possibility of digitising our quarterly tax journal, Irish Tax Review (ITR), but the pandemic and member feedback made up our minds. The ease and accessibility that going online provides to our readers was too compelling to ignore.

So, 37 years after it was first published, the Irish Tax Review is now digital!

Our decision to go online comes on the back of member feedback. It also has the advantage of future-proofing ITR for years to come. Most importantly, it gives the readers more control and flexibility over how and when they access the content. I look forward to hearing reaction to the new platform and continuing to develop it to enhance the reader experience.” Martin Lambe, CEO Irish Tax Institute

Why Irish Tax Review has gone digital

Well, our readers will be able to access ITR content on their phones and other devices when and from wherever they choose.

Going online takes the work out of searching for information and makes it possible to share and save articles so they are at your fingertips for future reference.

The flexibility of the new platform is exciting. For instance, it will be possible to publish articles in real time instead of waiting for the next quarterly edition. As a result, we can offer more up to date information for readers.

Finally, it goes without saying that digital is more environmentally friendly and more cost effective than print.

For those fond of the printed Irish Tax Review

Even with all these advantages, some of us will miss the printed copy landing on our desks every quarter. The good news is that you can still get your hands on hardcopies of the ITR content.

You will be able to pre-order a printed Irish Tax Review annual at the end of each year – we will have more details on pricing later in the year.

Or, if you can’t wait until the end of the year, there is a printing function on every article on the ITR platform. So, you can pick and choose the articles you want a physical copy of and print them straight away.

We would like to thank our members who continually provide us with feedback on what works well and how we can improve. We invite you to have a look around the new ITR platform and this quarter’s content and to let us know how you found it by emailing jhutchinson@taxinstitute.ie.

If you are not a member but are interested in accessing the Irish Tax Review or other Institute publications, you can subscribe to our tax information package.
