On the last evening of November, O’Reilly Hall came to life for one of the most anticipated nights in the Institute’s calendar. The Conferring Ceremony had a twinkling backdrop of lights, cameras, and smiles as we welcomed 272 newly qualified CTAs and 21 Tax Technicians to membership.
Marking the occasion, Tom Reynolds, Institute President, congratulated the conferees on their achievement and shared pearls of wisdom for them to remember throughout their careers. “You will leave this ceremony with a qualification that provides you with all the skills you need as a CTA and that is a huge achievement. But the quality that will make all the difference to you in your career is your integrity. No matter where you work or what route you take in your professional life, your colleagues; your clients; your employers; will need to know they can trust you and have confidence in the advice you give them.”
We were delighted to welcome our 2023 Third-Level Scholar, Adam McBride, for his moment of recognition too. We look forward to supporting Adam throughout his studies including the Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA) programme.
The evening also marked the outstanding contribution and commitment of two members to the Institute’s work. Michael Ryan has been a distinguished contributor to the work of the Institute, including many years as Chair of the Irish Tax Review. Emma Arlow has generously shared her expertise with members through our publications and professional development programmes. Yesterday in recognition of their work, Michael and Emma were awarded a Fellowship.
Prize Giving
Ahead of the Conferring Ceremony, 19 generously sponsored awards were presented to our 2023 prize winners by the sponsoring firms. We are immensely proud of the winners – Caoimhe Ní Raghallaigh, Emma Greene, Aleksandra Roche, Michael Malone, Rachel O’Sullivan, Ryan O’Brien, Evelyn O’Sullivan, Sam Totterdell, Megan Diamond, Aoife O’Reilly, Madelein Grobler and Opeyemi Osunsan.
We want to thank the 12 sponsoring firms for their generosity and continued support of the Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA) programme.
Revenue Conferring
Earlier in the day, the Institute jointly hosted a conferring ceremony with Revenue, awarding over 230 conferees with a range of Certificates and Tax Technician qualifications. Revenue Chairman, Niall Cody and Institute President, Tom Reynolds addressed the conferees and congratulated each on their success.
Congratulations to all our new Associates, Tax Technicians, award winners, Fellows and scholar! We look forward to working with you in the future and supporting you throughout your career.
