Chartered Tax Adviser Qualification

The Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA) qualification is the leading tax advisory qualification in Ireland for tax professionals.

A three-Part qualification which delivers deep tax technical knowledge and legislative expertise, this is the professional tax qualification of choice in the marketplace.

Who is it for?

This programme meets the needs of those who work in full-time tax roles or aspire to develop their career in tax, including:

How will I learn?

The CTA qualification is designed, delivered and assessed in line with best practice in professional education. Using bespoke materials updated to reflect the most topical tax issues, students are taught to navigate and interpret legislation.

Delivered through a range of innovative blended modules, the course provides maximum flexibility to suit students’ needs.

How will I be assessed?

Students are assessed by a combination of exams and professional skills assignments.

Achievement of the CTA qualification is testament to the student’s ability to provide technically correct and commercially sound tax advice. There are two exam sittings each year.

What are the entry requirements?


An Honours (Level 8) degree

No training contract is required to qualify as a Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA)
