Conferring Ceremony 2025

On the second last Thursday of November, one of the most anticipated nights in the Institute’s calendar took place in O’Reilly Hall, UCD. The Conferring Ceremony sparkled with faces full of pride, camera flashes and fairy lights as we welcomed our newly qualified Chartered Tax Advisers (CTA) and Tax Technicians into the membership of the Irish Tax Institute.

Marking this significant milestone, Shane Wallace, Institute President, celebrated the conferees’ achievement, acknowledged their families’ support in the accomplishment, and reiterated the responsibility conferees now have as qualified CTAs, “Something which was drilled into me at the start of my career and which I am now passing down to you all is that the Chartered Tax Adviser designation is not just a qualification – it’s a statement of trust. It means that clients, employers and society at large can rely on your advice — and, crucially, on your integrity. … That role carries immense responsibility. We must hold ourselves to the highest standards. The public expects — and deserves — advisers who act with integrity, independence, and professionalism”.
