Salary: €27,500K plus bonus and benefits
GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
A DBASS tax trainee will be expected to prepare various tax projects in the following areas;
- Personal tax compliance
- VAT compliance
- Tax Advisory memos, letters, reports, etc regarding group restructurings, succession planning, due diligence, mergers and acquisitions, trusts, family partnerships and various ad hoc queries.
- Develop an understanding of our clients’ and their businesses.
- Understand from your manager the scope of tasks allocated and objectives to be achieved.
- Keep seniors and managers fully informed of any issues and problems, ensure work is completed to a level agreed with the manager and record clearly and concisely work done.
- Should the trainee wish they may also gain exposure into the areas of company secretarial and book keeping.
- Demonstrates and applies an enthusiasm to completing work to a high standard, in accordance with expectations set by senior staff.
- Make full use of the resources and people available to find answers to queries before handing work on to the manager.
- Accurately complete and maintain timesheets to ensure proper billing for clients.
- Ability to interact with clients and obtain information necessary for the drafting of the aforementioned tax pieces.
- Attendance at client meetings both in office and at client site for various projects and conduct themselves in a professional manner at same.
- Taking responsibility for regular jobs and for finishing work that may come back to you following review or client clarifications.
- Liaising with clients for required information or response to client queries.
- Cover reception as and when required.
- To attend and contribute to Team Meetings as required.
- Ad hoc accounting and administrative work as required.
- Opportunity to take on extracurricular responsibilities within the department e.g. tech champion or social team member.
TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE:
- Able to grasp and apply core principles relevant to these areas demonstrating an enthusiasm to develop a thorough understanding of key concepts.
- Proactive in applying learnt knowledge to work thereafter and applying across all jobs.
- Ability to research and summarise key tax concepts.
