Description
The role of a Trainee is to provide support to the wider team by completing routine tasks.
They will provide support to clients, as well as with other team members, ensure that all work is completed to a high standard whilst also promoting the Cogent Taxation Group vision and values.
The Junior will provide support on a wide range of accounting services, including tax returns, payroll runs and management accounts, as well as basic administrative support as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities Assisting more senior colleagues in liaising with clients to gather information and communicate with clients on routine matters, such as:
- Assist in the preparation and completion of statutory financial statements,
- Assist in the preparation and completion of management accounts,
- Processing of invoices and credit notes,
- Preparing and filing of corporation tax returns,
- Preparing and filing of income tax returns,
- Preparing and filing of VAT returns,
- Preparation of weekly payroll files,
- Interaction with various systems i.e. Sage, Surf, Connections, Thesaurus
- Communicate and liaise verbally and in writing with external clients, always aiming to deliver customer service excellence,
- Ensure that all work is completed to a high standard in terms of timeliness and technical competence,
- Preparing company secretarial packs for restructurings, and submit filings to the CRO
Key Requirements
- Entry level role
- Desire to pursue Accounting and/or ITI qualification
