The Annual Conference returned to Galway on 4 and 5 April 2025, with the theme “Finding Clarity”. This year’s conference brought together close to 400 Chartered Tax Advisers (CTA) delegates, to navigate together the complex aspects of the tax system that have undergone significant changes in recent times.
The conference kicked off with a warm welcome from Institute President, Aoife Lavan, who set the stage for the comprehensive programme ahead. The spirits were high as delegates connected and reconnected with each other while absorbing first-class technical presentations.

Friday morning’s sessions covered a range of topics, including wealth considerations, the distinction between capital and revenue, the changing landscape of land use, and pensions. During lunch, delegates had the opportunity to reset with a Chair Yoga session led by Hannah Healy of Yoga Mara. The afternoon presentations delved into VAT, employment, international corporation tax, stamp duty, and the impact of sustainability on CTAs.

The conference concluded on Saturday morning with discussions on tax compliance, taxpayer rights, and Tax Appeals Commission (TAC) determinations. These sessions provided valuable insights and wrapped up the event on a high note.

Overall, Annual Conference 2025 in Galway was a resounding success, offering delegates the opportunity to gain clarity on the evolving tax landscape while fostering connections within the CTA community. The events photos are on Flickr.
