The role of Tax Analyst will be based in our state-of-the-art facility in Balbriggan, Co. Dublin. In addition to our Ireland fruit ripening centre, it houses a Group Finance team as well as Fyffes International Unlimited Company and Fyffes Management Services Ireland the core contracting and procurement entity for the Fyffes group, for sourcing fruit from Central and South America and shipping it into Europe and several other emerging markets. Role Description:
Role reporting into the GBS Tax Team Lead.
Scope of Role
Responsible for supporting and assisting the Tax Team Lead with tax and transfer pricing compliance across the European entities, and with providing advice to internal stakeholders. This role will play a critical part in ensuring Fyffe’s compliance to tax laws in nowadays complex international tax regulations.
Operational Responsibilities
- Preparation of VAT returns for the Irish group entities for review by the Tax Team Lead.
- Support and assist the Tax Team Lead, as required, with any VAT related queries to ensure the Group is VAT compliant.
- Assist in preparing and submitting the corporation tax computations and other tax returns (iXBRL, 46G) in line with internal and statutory deadlines as directed by the Tax Team Lead.
- Assisting with the preparation of tax provision, group relief and related notes, including audit support, for reporting to the shareholder and annual statutory filings for relevant entities. This will include the posting of related tax journals and preparation of tax accounting disclosures in Group and local financial statements.
- Support and assist the Tax Team Lead in the provision of accurate tax advice to internal partners (e.g., Finance, Legal, HR, Treasury etc) in an efficient and timely manner
- Support and assist the Tax Team Lead and external advisor in updating Transfer pricing documents, CBC (Country by Country) and CFC reporting.
- Assist the Tax Team Lead with completion of the yearly tax budget and monthly forecasting.
- Support the Tax Team Lead in Withholding tax compliance and reconciliations.
- Conduct in-depth tax research to ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations.
Profile
- Tax Qualification with at least one year post qualification experience, within an international Tax / Audit firm or a mid-large multi-national organisation.
- Proven knowledge and experience in Vat and Tax compliance with a keen interest in other areas of Tax.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Full fluency in English, 2nd or 3rd language (German, Dutch, Spanish) would be an advantage but not essential.
- Strong interest in and affinity with IT and Business processes.
- Knowledge of SAP S/4 HANA is an advantage but not required.
- Ability to work independently and under guidance, productively and as part of a team.
- Outstanding oral and written communication skills and ability to liaise with Finance and non-Finance professionals at various levels.
- Strong ethics and integrity.
- Strong business acumen and understanding of functional linkages.
- Excellent organization, time management skills and adaptability.
