We are delighted to return to the Galmont Hotel, Galway for Annual Conference 2026, taking place on 24 & 25 April. This conference is a great opportunity for Ireland’s tax community to come together for expert technical updates and unparalleled networking opportunities.
This year’s programme delivers a comprehensive exploration of the issues shaping tax practice in 2026, with sessions designed to equip practitioners with the insights they need in an ever-evolving landscape.
24 April Technical Sessions
Diving into the robust tax technical agenda, Friday morning explores recent tax changes for Irish real estate, VAT on property scenarios, key challenges for partnerships in practice and getting the structure right for a future share sale or family succession. Before lunch, Institute President, Shane Wallace, will put your questions to the morning’s expert speakers – Joseph Keane of Deloitte, Ethna Kennon of KPMG, John Cuddigan of RDJ and Marie Bradley of Bradley Tax Consulting.
The afternoon delves into R&D tax credit opportunities, pitfalls and Revenue intervention trends, topical pensions issues, how tax practitioners, tax teams and Revenue are using technology, and practical tips on engaging with Revenue. Finishing Friday’s technical sessions is a Q&A session with Ian Collins of EY, Jim Connolly of Goodbody, Johnny Wickham of PwC and Gemma Tugwell of Grant Thornton.
25 April Technical Sessions
Resuming on Saturday morning, the programme focuses on employment taxation trends, cybersecurity for CTAs and a review of recent Tax Appeal Commission’s determinations. Sarah Conry of Deloitte, Anne Leslie of IBM and Mark Barrett of RDJ will answer delegate questions to mark the end of Annual Conference 2026.
Networking Opportunities
Throughout the 1.5-day conference, you will have ample time to catch-up with old friends and make new connections. There will be a tea and coffee break for a quick respite from the tax technical information. For Friday lunchtime, enjoy lunch in the restaurant or at the wellness session on balancing your nutrition and working life, led by CTA and dietician, Jill Leavy.
The social highlight of the conference is the drinks reception and Gala Dinner on the Friday evening. It offers a relaxed setting to connect with peers from across the Tax Advisory profession.
