Tax Technician – Merry Mullen

The Role:

We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Tax Technician to join our Tax Team.

This is a new opportunity within our firm and requires a positive, self-motivated individual with excellent organisational and technical skills who can execute multiple tasks simultaneously.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with the preparation and review of tax returns for individuals, partnerships and corporations.
  • Processing of payroll returns
  • Processing of VAT returns
  • General tax administration tasks
  • Delivering work to strict deadlines and dealing with day-to-day queries and requests
  • Working closely with clients to ensure a high service level

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Tax and/or Accounting Technician Qualification
  • IPASS Qualification (desirable)
  • 1-3 years’ experience working in a busy tax or accounting environment
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel
  • Experience of Tax, Accounting, Payroll software
  • Aptitude and interesting in learning new skills

Skills and competencies required:

  • Excellent attention to detail and demonstrable numerical/analytical skills.
  • Strong technical and organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and on own initiative.
  • Flexibility regarding tasks undertaken and the ability to prioritise a few conflicting demands to meet exacting deadlines
  • Good communication skills and confidence in handling queries
  • Discretion in dealing with confidential information
