The Role:
We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Tax Technician to join our Tax Team.
This is a new opportunity within our firm and requires a positive, self-motivated individual with excellent organisational and technical skills who can execute multiple tasks simultaneously.
Responsibilities:
- Assisting with the preparation and review of tax returns for individuals, partnerships and corporations.
- Processing of payroll returns
- Processing of VAT returns
- General tax administration tasks
- Delivering work to strict deadlines and dealing with day-to-day queries and requests
- Working closely with clients to ensure a high service level
Experience & Qualifications:
- Tax and/or Accounting Technician Qualification
- IPASS Qualification (desirable)
- 1-3 years’ experience working in a busy tax or accounting environment
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel
- Experience of Tax, Accounting, Payroll software
- Aptitude and interesting in learning new skills
Skills and competencies required:
- Excellent attention to detail and demonstrable numerical/analytical skills.
- Strong technical and organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and on own initiative.
- Flexibility regarding tasks undertaken and the ability to prioritise a few conflicting demands to meet exacting deadlines
- Good communication skills and confidence in handling queries
- Discretion in dealing with confidential information
