Senior Tax Manager

The Role: Merry Mullen are seeking to recruit a Senior Tax Manager.

You will have experience across all tax heads along with excellent people management skills in order to develop efficiencies across the team through good use of our tools and our people.

As a manager you will be responsible for managing and reviewing of all compliance workflows, in addition to developing the team.

In addition, you will be responsible for a portfolio of clients across a range of sectors, to include tax consulting.

This role would suit an ambitious tax professional with excellent communication skills and who is familiar with implementing change in a practice environment.

Main Duties:
  • Development and management of the team to perform to their fullest potential in order to deliver results
  • Management of workflows and processes within the team
  • Manage and review of compliance functions including quality review of corporate and personal tax returns, under various tax heads
  • Management of a portfolio of clients
  • Work on preparing detailed tax advice in relation to various tax issues; liaising and advising clients on Irish and international corporate and personal tax matters
  • Modernise the team and work towards digitalising processes to create efficiencies and to improve ways of working within the team
  • Maintain an excellent level of client service at all times
Personal Relationship Management:
  • Build effective relationships with team, other internal teams and clients.
Skills & Competencies required:
  • Qualified CTA with practice experience
  • You must have 5+ years’ relevant experience across all major tax heads
  • Client facing experience with a focus on the SME Sector
  • Commercial awareness
  • Experience using Sage/Relate or similar tax software is an advantage
  • Proficient in MS Tools, coupled with the ability to learn new systems
  • An enthusiastic approach to problem-solving, energy and enthusiasm
  • Excellent communication skills coupled with very strong organisational skills
