Senior Tax Accountant

Senior Tax Accountant opportunity in our small but busy Tax Team. You’ll be working closing with the team of 4, with plenty of autonomy and involvement in lots of consultancy work such as transfer pricing and share schemes.

We’re looking for a qualified accountant 4 years PQE, ideally experienced from Big 4 professional practice, good team player and comfortable working autonomously.

Reporting to the Head of Tax, you will manage the provision of tax services to various companies in the AXA group and to undertake tax projects and support and review the work of more junior team members.

  • Working as part of the tax team, the provision of tax compliance and consulting services to AXA companies based in Ireland.
  • Provision and implementation of advice across all tax heads.
  • Ensure timely preparation of transfer pricing documentation including collaborating with colleagues and external advisers.
  • Work with the Head of Tax in dealing with tax queries from the Group, other business departments and the Revenue Commissioners.
  • Develop strong relationships across the business and identify and communicate relevant changes in domestic and international tax policy to the business.
  • Documentation of processes and identification of potential improvements.
  • Seek out and implement opportunities for streamlining and simplification of processes and documentation of same

Skills & experience

  • Qualified with 4 years’ PQE in financial services and Chartered Tax Adviser
  • Experience gained in a Big 4 professional practice firm or from a large multinational environment tax team will be an advantage
  • Experience working to tight deadlines
  • Technically strong with a hands on approach.
  • Strong analytical and good judgement skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills, with a practical approach to solving problems.
  • Proven interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships and communicate at all levels.
  • Ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team and to deliver on tight deadlines.
  • A willingness to undertake other duties including ad hoc projects.
