The Role:
Merry Mullen currently have an opportunity for a Tax Trainee to join our Tax Team on a training contract.
The successful candidate will work alongside our experienced tax team, gaining training across all tax heads, while working towards successfully completing the Irish Tax Institute’s Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA) qualification.
Responsibilities:
As a Tax Trainee, you will be trained and developed in –
- the preparation of tax computations, personal tax returns and corporation tax returns for our income tax and corporation tax clients.
- the preparation of VAT, PAYE. CGT and other revenue returns.
- researching, reviewing and interpretation of tax legislation and Revenue guidance.
- assisting with the preparation of tax advisory reports and responding to client queries
- communicating with clients and Revenue on an ongoing basis
- attending client meetings along with more senior staff members to obtain one-to-one client interaction skills
- any other duties and tasks associated with the role.
Experience & Qualifications:
- degree or master’s level qualification in a business and / or legal related discipline
- a strong awareness and experience of customer experience requirements
- solid IT Skills including MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Powerpoint
- strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
- be self-motivated and enthusiastic with strong planning and organisational skills
- be ambitious and keen to progress their career and become a qualified tax advisor
- fluent English with strong communication skills in both a written and verbal context
- strong interpersonal skills and enjoy working as part of a team
