The Institute’s Autumn 2023 professional tax qualification courses are open for registration now.

Beginning at the end of September and start of October, the three courses – Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA), Diploma in Tax, and Tax Technician – are designed to meet your level of tax knowledge and enhance it further.

You will acquire technical tax knowledge through a blend of recorded and live online lectures delivered by expert lecturers and tax advisers, and a student discussion forum.

Each programme provides you with flexibility and our team of our coordinators will guide and support you throughout.

Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA) – become a tax expert

The Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA) qualification is the leading tax advisory qualification in Ireland and the international mark of excellence in tax advice. It delivers deep tax technical knowledge and legislative expertise.

Starting in October 2023, you will receive bespoke materials and access to TaxFind, a comprehensive online tax research database, which will be used throughout the programme. You’ll learn how to navigate and interpret legislation, using all the tools available to you. Autumn exams take place in April 2024.

Diploma in Tax – build and refresh your tax knowledge

The Diploma in Tax qualification is designed to meet the needs of accountants and finance professionals who wish to expand their tax knowledge. Upon completion, participants will have a solid grounding in tax and be familiar with the current compliance rules in an ever-changing tax landscape.

The 10-month programme starts at the end of September 2023, with final results released in June 2024.

Tax Technician – learn the fundamentals

The Tax Technician qualification is an entry level, modular programme which you have a 4-year period to complete. At the end of this practical and flexible programme, participants are enabled to work across a range of tax compliance roles.
