How will I learn?

How will I be assessed?

Students are assessed by a combination of exams and professional skills assignments.

Achievement of the CTA qualification is testament to the student’s ability to provide technically correct and commercially sound tax advice. There are two exam sittings each year.

What are the entry requirements?


You will have an Honours (Level 8) degree.

If you do not hold a Level 8 qualification, your application based on the recognition of prior learning. See page 10 of our Student Handbook for more details.

Are there any exemptions available?


Exemptions are available depending on your qualification. Check the full list of exemptions in pages 11 - 16 of the Student Handbook.

Do I need a training contract or professional experience?


There's no training contract required to qualify as a Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA).
