David Shanahan
 is a Tax Director with Deloitte with over 12 years' experience serving clients across a range of industries. David’s experience includes advising clients on structuring investment into Ireland to maximize the benefit of Ireland’s low tax regime, cross-border mergers and acquisitions, tax efficient financing & holding structures and group reorganizations. He has significant experience in the area of IP planning, advising groups on how to structure their IP and business operations to maximise the benefits of Ireland’s tax regime, including advising on IP migration strategies. David spent 2 years (2009 & 2010) leading Deloitte's Irish tax desk in New York where he specialised in cross-border tax planning. David is a Chartered Accountant (ACA) and an AITI Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA). He currently leads Deloitte Leyton’s R&D tax credit team.

James Smyth is a Manager in the corporation tax department in Deloitte with responsibility for a broad range of domestic and international clients. He has been actively involved in the corporation tax compliance process for a number of high profile Irish plcs and multinational clients. He has also advised clients on a wide range of consultancy issues including corporate restructuring of both Irish and multinational groups, financing structures and M&A work. James currently works within the knowledge management function in Deloitte Ireland. He advises on on IP structures for multinational groups highlighting the benefits of offshore IP holding structures and the Irish onshore IP regime. James is a Chartered Accountant (ACA) and is also an AITI Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA).
